MY JOURNEY TO OC VP

I was recruited in FEB 2010.....I didnt know anything about AIESEC. i was just given a form by my senior in college and he asked me to just join the organization. Believe me!!! The day i Joined AIESEC i knew nothing more than its name.

After coming into the organization I was put into the DEVELOPMENT(DT) department. Slowly as I attended the meetings, went through the training I came to know more about AIESEC

But still by that time I was not sure whether joining AIESEC was the right decision or not.....

It was in April when i went for my 1st meeting with the NGOs of kolkata. After meeting a couple of big NGOs i actually realized what i got...maybe you guys cant guess what i got??

I COULDNT BELIEVE THAT I GAVE A FULL PRESENTATION TO THEM ABOUT AIESEC, HAD A FORMAL CONVERSATION WITH THEM AND HAD STRUCK A DEAL.!!!


just within a few months AIESEC made my soft skill so strong!!!!!  And after 3 months, I am made the ORGANIZING COMMITTEE VICE PRESIDENT(OC VP)

and now i am given the opportunity of interacting the entire youth of KOLKATA.........

i am proud to be an AIESECr

MY AIESEC EXPERIENCE

In February 2010, I bought a form thinking AIESEC would be like any other student organization in college. The prospectus looked impressive and I was told about its international exposure, networking...etc, which totally caught my attention. Sitting through the local trainers seminar ( LTS), I learnt that AIESEC was not some mere organization in Kolkata but the largest student organization in the world! Being part of a 40,000-member body, across 110 countries makes you realize that you're part of a global movement, a movement led by the youth.

I was inducted into Communication department. I can truly say that my C experience, so far, has been unforgettable and has become my most preferred department, by a mile.

Missing RLDS 2010, my first national conference, made me take a step back in terms of motivation to work. As all the other new members had bonded and were so high on the AIESEC spirit, I felt I couldn't have connected with them at the same level and worked with the same amount of passion. Fortunately, that never happened. I've made some of my closest friends because of AIESEC and that passion to work increases everyday.

Now, in JULY 2010, I'm Organizing Committee Vice President (OC VP) Recruitment in AIESEC Kolkata. Acquiring this post makes you realize that you're not only accountable for yourself, but for the entire team. Having that responsibility and achieving those targets, makes you definitely grow in terms of those numbers. Patience was a virtue I lacked, which I think now has grown by three-fold. Being able to approach n talk to people without stammering is an achievement that I completely owe to AIESEC. I have so much more yet to take from this organization. I hope to extract all that I can by the end of my term.

Approx six months into the organization and I can proudly say

"I am an AIESEC'er!"

I am an engineering student...we all enginners in kolkata get recruited by companies like Tata Consultancy Services(TCS), Cognizant , Wipro after a series of strict examinations.....Just imagine, on the day of your job interview, your interviewer knows you from before....because you could have already worked with it before as an intern..YES!!!! Hey guys.... so I joined AIESEC because I was 'vehla'...seriously...in the sense i was looking for a job/something to keep me occupied...and thats when I found out about AIESEC... heard about the many organisations like PWC...TATA...Microsoft..DHL...Godrej...etc!!! and i was like wow!!!!

and then the leadership opportunities that you get in this youth-run organisation is amazing!!! its a progress from a member to executive board of local committee...to national committee and so an d so forth..... the biggest advantage-- its the world's strongest youth run organisation... you work hard and party harder!!!! imagine having friends not only form all over the country but also from around the world...!!!! we have many national conferences throughout the year which as AIESEC members you can be part of.. and you build international contacts through the many people from all over the world who come to india.. more specifically kolkata for internships.... AIESEC-India provides internships to foreigners seeking opportunities in India and the other way around as well..! AIESEC is present in over 100 countries and has a strong impact on your resume as well .!!

well i can say this with my experience tht AIESEC has reli helped me a lot in life n given me the opportunities which i had onli dreamt of!Be it giving me a vast network of friends all across the globe or making me realise my own potential! i neva knew i cud lead a team of so many different ppl wid different ideologies n backgrounds..cud neva imagine being a part of an event impacting 5000 underprivileged children! so guys dun think just join now!
